Album Info:Pete Claussen, a Knoxville attorney and businessman entered the railroad business in the late 1980s-early 1990s with the purchase of several branches. The first was Mississippi Delta RR (MSDR) from IC, followed closely by the Alabama & Florida RR (AFLR) based in Opp, AL and Wiregrass Central Rr (WGCR) in Enterprise, AL both from CSX. Not long after, he purchased former CSX lines in Albany under the Atlantic & Gulf RR (AGLF). The Hartford and Slocumb RR (H&S) and others followed in the 2000s.

These three units made up the bulk of the operating power on the line in the early 2000s. Wiregrass Central seemed to be a preferred location to shake down newly acquired power by G&O Railways over the years.

Title:  Shot of G&O Railways logo shows the nod to the GM&O winged logo.
Description:  With all the constant trading of power$between the growing G&O Railway empire, there was a push to create a standard paint scheme. Later, decals with the road name were added under the wing logo. These could be easily changed when the unit was reassigned to other operations without a major repaint.

This picture is notable for two reasons. The ex ICG GP10 has only recently go a coat of G&O red and it still retains old journal bearing axle covers on its trucks. I would return in a couple of years to find this same unit in the same shape, though fade

The red of the unmarked GP10 had faded to pink after a few years in the hot South Alabama sun. This unit never got any markings other than a quickly fading coat of red.

It is the end of the line for the last two original AGLF units as they sit on the end of the old CofGA transfer with the L&N at Andalusia. By this timk Pioneer had taken over the AGLF from Claussen and his G&O Railway after a stint in local hands and GP1
