Album Info:Followed the signs to the Mitchell Corn Palace and dog gone if I didn't somehow find my self down by the tracks while my wife looked at what corn or what ever is in the palace. If I've done my research properly today this yard is the interchange point between BNSF and DSRC, the Dakota Southern. Not trains at 8AM on this Saturday morning but a bridge vantage point at the west end of the yard made up for it... /DL

Description:  Now the Passenger side to the left is 'The Depot Pub & Grill' and the freight station to the right is called 'FREIGHTHOUSE at the Depot'. I suspect the freight handled here is not carried by rail.... The building is very well maintained, the wood work on the outside freshly scrapped & carefully painted. /DL

Description:  The two track divides at the east end of the yard. The track to the left is eastbound BNSF to Souix Falls paralling I90, and the right hand turn is south&east to Souix City. If I read my internet tea leaves properly the right turn is BNSF trackage which the DSRC has use of. Fine tuning of these museings from local folks is appreciated. /DL

Description:  The turntable was to the right. Behind this perspective going west the Dakota Southern heads into home territory acorss the state parallel to I90. BNSF heads off NW about a mile behind the camera. /DL
