Album Info:Delaware & Ulster Railroad MP51.8 - East Hubble Hill Road gc Kelly Corners, NY 30 October 2013 D&U Work Extra D&H #5017 [ALCo RS-36 D&H #32178 [Magor] Side Dump Car Well, I was heading out to run errands, when at the bottom of my road I caught sight of DURR #5017 sitting at the East Hubbell Road grade crossing. Imagine my surprise to see Vic, Ted, Gene and the rest of the D&U crew loading the vintage D&H Magor Side Dump Car with large fill with loaders with D&H #5017. What a catch: dual D&H livery! Mr. Donald Bishop (executive director of the A. Lindsay & Olive B. O'Connor Foundation); with Mr. Dave Riordan (executive director of DURR) dropping by. Mr. Bishop and I chatted it up while the dump car was loaded. He informed me the fill was destined for further "shoring up" and repair of the former washout caused by Hurricane Irene east of Arkville at MP 47.4, and he suggested I follow him over when loading was complete. So, I went to the dump location to get the load being dumped (see next album).
