Originally built by Alco-Richmond as B&O 2-8-0 Consolidation #2296 in August of 1903, the loco was transformed by the Mt Clare Shops to B&O 0-8-0 yard switcher #1080 in March of 1929. In 1954, it was renumbered again to #1522 and in 1956, a new number was sssigned (#821) but never put on as the loco was retired in 1957. Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 210,000 lb and tractive effort of 54,800 lb. This is an Arthur B. Johnson photo. |
