Title:
BO 2-8-8-4 #7618 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Quite an impressive piece of power in this Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive #7618. Built by Baldwin in 1944 (serial #70080). the loco was fit to handle long drags of coal and freight cars in the Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Vriginia and Ohio areas. Near the end of its life in 1956, it was renumbered to BO 668 in 1956 to make room for new diesels on the roster. The beautiful machine was scrapped in 1960. Unfortunately no date, location or photographer was listed for this photo.
