I had left my relatives home near Jasper Ga in quest of some rail action. My wife and some female relatives had gone on a girls trip to Pigeon Forge, so I was free to roam. I caught a southbound on the CSX line from Knoxville along US 411, then went over to Dalton on my way to Chattanooga. I stopped for a couple hours at Dalton to catch the action. The first train was a northbound move with 84 auto racks, 1 articulated rack, and 41 freight behind a single unit, though there would be a mid train DPU as well.

ATSF 32-8-2 #193 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:
According to a note on the back of the photo, this loco is sitting in a scrap line at a Chicago yard. The photo was taken by photographer Anderson on 116 size film. According to the Baldwin records, the loco was finally sold for scrap to M.S. Kaplan on 8/7/1953 so it sat for nearly 6 years in the scrap line. Original specs - 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 348,400 lb, and tractive effort of 63,000 lb.
