But not for long. The Rock Island had been in bankruptcy since 1964, and by this time was on its last legs. In the mid 70s, a new management team had started a rebranding of the road, now "The Rock", and started painting everything in this blue paint scheme. It was like putting lipstick on a cow, dressing up the look, but it didnt hide the decay underneath. One of the new look gons in eastbound on RF 7 passing Jamaica station. |
