Title:
BN 249107 Derailed
Description:
A minor derailment in the BNSF Gainesville Yard resulting from crew error. This derailment occurred while train H-KCKTPL1-27 was making a set out (rear car BN 249107) into Gainesille Yard Track No. 7 (CLIC 6507) at 1330-CT-28. This track had two cars at the west end (ATSF 179310 and CGLX 10338). The middle portion of the track was out of service (rail removed) and protected by TCM (Track Condition Message) as well as red flags at each end. The conductor on the H-KCKTPL1-27 made the joint on the two cars, failed to protect the shove, and pushed the cars right over the red flag and off the track. The derailed cars leaned and impacted car BN 541914 on adjacent Track No. 6 (CLIC 6506). The BN 541914 was not derailed. There were no injuries.
