| Cab Ride. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Samuel Rea Shop (SRS) in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, 18 August 1962. Shown here (L to R) are Herbert P. Ruck and James Dodson. They're standing next to a newly-built hopper car during an "Open House" at SRS. Mr. Ruck was the overall Superintendent of the Altoona Car Shops in 1962, while Mr. Dodson was a Gang Foreman at SRS. It was Mr. Ruck who arranged for Thomas H. Lantz and I to ride in the cab of a PRR passenger locomotive from Pittsburgh to Altoona on Saturday, 29 December 1962. |
