UP 2954
WSOR crews work UP ballast trains from Rock Springs, WI. The 60-some hoppers are loaded with the CNW's famous "Pink-Lady" ballast, so named for it's pinkish-purplish hue. The train is passing the site of Madison's Central Park. Progress on the park is impeded by the need to relocate the tracks, which are owned by the UP and leased to the WSOR. Unless the city can raise several million dollars to pay for the relocation, don't expect Central Park to look any different.
