D750-06 (Willard-Akron Turn) is eastbound on track #2 at the Seven Hills CPLs mp BG 186.9 of the CSX New Castle Subdivision. With a Scottish Breakfast found in nearby New London, it is now 7:45 in the morning on Friday July 6th, 2001. This train interchanges traffic with the OHCR and the RJ Corman at Warwick and then works at Akron before turning back west to Willard in the afternoon. He usually rates a pair of elderly four-axle geeps or a mother/slug set. In a six-axle widecab GE world, D750 is always a treat. But you have to get up early to catch him this far west. Buck Creek, which provides the flat profile of this line for about 5 miles or so, is parallel to the rail about 75 yards to the north. |
