New Orleans Public Service ST. CHARLES line car 871 was outbound on St. Charles Avenue at Melpomene Street. The car had been built by the J.G. Brill Co. in 1922 and was scrapped in June 1964, right after the original CANAL car line was replaced with buses. The tall building in the background was the new New Orleanian Hotel at 1205 St. Charles., which later became a condominium. |
