| Southern Pacific GP9R 3301 was on a transfer run from the CSX to the SP at New Orleans. This was one of the railroad’s first GP9 units, having been built in May 1954 as Texas & New Orleans 408. It was renumbered SP 3408 in 1965 and was upgraded at the Sacramento Shops as GP9R 3301 – the railroad’s second upgraded GP9 – on 19 March 1970. It was retired on 18 February 1993 and was sold to OmniTRAX in October 1995. |
