UP 5316 leads westbound perishable unit train near maximun track speed. I believe this is the train that UP and CSX set up to haul apples and other produce between Wallula, WA and Albany NY warehouses for Railex Corp. A story about this can be found in the January 2007 issue of Trains by Marc Entze. The westbound empty train is due Saturday (today) in Wallula. According to Train magazine this is the only non intermodal train to receive the highest priority Z train symbol. |
