Description:  Guiding past the new construction surrounding the massive Union Station in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is this massive Canadian National 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in July of 1924 (serial #1750, class U-1-b), the loco served until retirement and scrapping in October of 1959, after barely 35 years of service. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb. Norman Thompson photo
